Finnsheep wool comes in a variety of natural colors: white, black, brown, gray and fawn. The fiber has a soft hand and luster. It is the combination of these two traits that make Finnsheep wool so special. Luster is usually found in long-wooled breeds and the fiber of long-wooled breeds is typically more coarse than Finnsheep wool. Finnsheep fiber combines softness and luster, which makes this fiber desirable to handspinners and knitters. Micron count for Finnsheep fleece ranges from 24 to 31 microns. Add that to the fiber being low in lanoline and soft to touch. So soft, the fiber may be worn right next to your skin.
